Applesauce
We all know those apples. You know… THOSE apples. The ones that have been on your shelf for a while. Or maybe the ones that you pass by at the store. They’re the end of winter apples. The ones you’ve been avoiding because you know that you’ll be disappointed that they’re mealy. Or that they’re not as sweet as you’d like. The apples that are simply undesirable to eat plain.
THOSE apples are the ones that are perfect for applesauce! So use them up! Don’t let them go to waste. Turn those sad apples into something better. Trust me, it’s worth the effort.
This recipe also works well with pears! So keep that in mind. You can also do a mix of pear/apple. That’s what I did this week. It’s like magic; sad fruits into a delicious sauce.
